Job Description
The role is pivotal in steering software projects to success. They lead and mentor software engineers, ensuring alignment to technical standards and fostering professional growth. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, they define project requirements and drive execution from inception to deployment. Handling squad ceremonies and backlog grooming processes, they facilitate team alignment and efficient feature delivery. They are responsible for external vendor squads, maintain documentation standards, and provide technical expertise. Their accountability extends to feature deployment, including QA and defect remediation. Additionally, they mentor junior Tech Leads, promoting continuous team development.
This role will be a part of Commercial Product & Platform function and Crew & Manager Experiences team, and will report to Director, Global Restaurant Technology. This role will own the development of new experiences at our restaurants globally.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support for their professional development.
- Be responsible for the technical aspects of projects, ensuring alignment with architectural, quality, and security standards.
- Lead and Define Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings, resulting in improved team productivity.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and collaborators to define project requirements and priorities.
- Drive project execution from planning and design to implementation and deployment.
- Handle squad-level ceremonies and act as the leader of Software Development Engineers (SDE’s), fostering collaboration and alignment within the team.
- Partner with Product Managers to lead backlog grooming processes and ensure timely feature delivery. Lead and engage collaborators to drive product innovation, vision and gain agreement for product initiatives.
- Supervise and handle the output of external vendor squads to ensure alignment to company standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance, answering technical questions, and ensuring accountability for technical solutions.
- Take accountability for deploying new features, including QA, production deployment, and defect remediation, while mentoring junior Tech Leads and supporting their professional growth and development.
- Support all areas of the business with finding and assessing talent, providing guidance and expertise to help recruit and retain top talent.
- Consult with project workstream owners to identify project charters, structures, roles, resource requirements, and governance structures, to ensure projects are completed successfully.
- Support the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote key messages and achieve a competitive advantage, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Build and lead an innovative and varied portfolio of digital projects across devices, closely aligned with business and product management teams, to drive growth and innovation.
- Responsible for career development, performance management, and communication for PMO staff, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
- Periodically review the quality of RCAs for support, providing feedback to improve the balance of system reliability and agility.
- Work collaboratively with product, design & engineering teams to ensure we're building the best products for our customers across all devices, with high quality and at market speed and develop GTM plans
- Establish technical standards and guidelines to ensure integrity of systems and compliance with company IT standards, policies, and processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260-$190,310.00 per year
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- 8+ years hands-on software development experience, with knowledge of Agile software development process
- 5+ years of product experience, preferably on customer-facing products leading agile development teams
- Experience with AI/ML models & computer vision technology
- Ability to use UI&UX design Principles and Cloud technologies in projects.
- Experience partnering with collaborators across a sophisticated, global matrixed org setup
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & standard methodologies for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- A deep understanding of the technical aspects of software development including coding languages, software architecture, design patterns, database design, and application security
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical collaborators
- Strong quantitative analysis skills; analytics approach and skills in research and analysis
- A love of new technologies and the aim to find ways to implement better tools and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Science or related field (Informatics, Statistics) is desirable.
- Excellent understanding of latest development technologies and Infrastructure knowledge
- Experience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practices.
- Promotes adoption of Agile methodologies to secure dedicated approach in product teams
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical collaborators.
- Ability to make strategic decisions to effectively plan and complete projects.
